BEWARE of WEDDINGWIRE (class action lawsuit)

BEWARE of WEDDINGWIRE (class action lawsuit) Weddingwire Complaint

Weddingwire lies to brides and defames several hundred very reputable businesses. Wedding wire uses blackmail to get vendors to pay them. If you do not pay them to be on their site they break all of the laws and try to force you to advertise with them and they do everything they can to hurt your business. Weddingwire has a less than desirable rating with the BBB Better business bureau. 10 complaints and 7 filed in the last 12 months alone. http://www.bbb.org/washington-dc-eastern-pa/business-reviews/wedding-consultants/weddingwire-inc-in-bethesda-md-235980765/

Beware of Weddingwire! It is not a site to believe when all of the reviews are either fake or competitive business owners posing as a bride to knock out the competition. f44a74

I too have had a very bad experience with weddingwire.com It seems that they are having their very own negative reviews removed. Hmmm what is weddingwire hiding?? The BEST advice that I could give any bride/vendor to be would be to STAY AWAY from ALL review boards! They are time wasters and places for bullies! The best wedding planning comes from your local bridal shows! You can see vendors face to face and you don't have to have with all of the drama. Who needs drama when planning your wedding!!!

From my personal experience Weddingwire.com definitely bullies small business owners into trying to get them to advertise. Weddingwire.com is notorious for this practice. They have tried it with me on several occasions and several of my colleagues. Weddingwire is always putting wrong reviews on their review site and even several libelous ones. It is a Weddingwire.com practice that needs to be put to sleep!!

WeddingWire sucks for Vendors

This is a repost from the Pissed Consumer at http://weddingwire.pissedconsumer.com/weddingwire-sucks-for-vendors-20110627245609.html . I am reposting this get those businesses that were harmed by the WeddingWire to vent here. The more we vent the faster WeddingWire will get the idea that they are a hateful toward bridal vendors and a scurge to the internet.

WeddingWire sucks for Vendors Weddingwire Complaint by Dumbledoor

When I first saw Weddingwire, I thought the site was really good. Lots of diverse vendors and seemingly lots of diverse customers, so I signed up. I went for the 80 a month package, thinking if I don't like it I'll cancel it. So a week goes by, nothing happens. A month goes by, nothing happens, so I start to look around. Signed up for a free account on WeDJ and got lots of leads instantly. After that, I decided to cancel Weddingwire". I send the generic email a request to cancel my account, but WAIT, I CAN'T DO THAT:. Apparently I signed up for a annual contract, where NOWHERE does it say that when I signed up, so now they want almost a grand from me'. The rep kept trying to tell me that maybe it's me, in that I should get more reviews and change my logo to get more attention? As some would say NO SHE DIDN'T'.

The site is geared towards vendors that have been there for ages and pay the biggest annual rates|. They highlight those vendors and throw the other ones to the 15th page, even if the paying ones are in a different state! I did a search on my own listing for the city that I lived in,. My payment guaranteed I'd be on the first page, but NO I was on the 11th page, with people in 2 states away on closer pages,. In conclusion, if you're a wedding vendor WEDDINGWIRE IS A RIPOFF.. If you're getting married, you'll find much better vendors on other sites like WeDJ, Decidio, and even Craigslist. f4441f

I had the same problem with Wedding Wire, I had my profile removed but they will not remove the reviews, plus know I can not even defend my company by replying to negative feed back. Many customers use this site to force their vendors to do what they want. Period! You give me a refund or !!!! They do not care about company policy they get away with murder. Wedding Wire should be sued to review all there reviews....I advise all wedding businesses to stay clear from them...if you have account with them cancel it is hurting your business overall.

Weddingwire hurt my business by refusing to remove a defamatory review from my profile. I have lost business this year and weddingwire is to blame!

DO NOT open a vendor profile on weddingwire.com because they will NOT remove the profile even after you delete your profile.

It's almost like they want you to look bad!!

I feel it's because I am not a paying vendor!

Beware Vendors & Brides of WeddingWire.com

This is a repost from another review site called Viewpoints dot com:  http://www.viewpoints.com/Wedding-Wire-review-91724

Wedding Wire
Beware Vendors & Brides of weddingwire.com

This company posted a Fraudulent review of my company. After disputing it with overwheming facts, they still decided to put it back up. All other sites have taken the Fraudulent reviews down and even the BBB has closed the case with no negative impact on my rating, IE, no complaint against us. The person who wrote it didnt even respond back to the BBB as they knew it was not true. Weddingwire.com will not return phone calls and now is ignoring me. I have had to now obtain legal counseI to resolve this matter. I have no problems with truthful criticism as we would take corrective actions if this happens, but this is not the case.

Welcome to the Wedding Wire Scam Blog

Welcome to the Wedding Wire Scam blog. This blog is intended for all the small businesses that have been wronged by the Wedding Wire's review practices. I invite all bridal vendors to post their issues with the Wedding Wire or any of its affiliates, ie. Brides Magazine, Conde Nast, Martha Stewart Weddings, Best City Weddings, BridalBuds, BridalAces, Wedding Registry, Project Wedding, or any of the others not mentioned here.
On http://www.crunchbase.com/company/wedding-wire a review of the Wedding Wire company is below:

  • Based on our personal experience and the consistent complaints from other engaged couples and vendors alike, the WeddingWire team became aware of a remarkable inefficiency in today’s wedding market. With engaged couples continually struggling to find the vendor that best suits their needs and vendors constantly searching for new ways to expand their businesses, WeddingWire set out to solve this persistent disconnect and provide both parties with simple, yet productive, channels to interact.
  • For engaged couples, WeddingWire’s unrivaled planning efficiencies are a tremendous value, saving time and money, and online social networking satisfies an emotional need to connect with other couples also planning their big days. WeddingWire offers best-in-breed, online search, project planning, and community tools for assisting with the wedding planning process.
  • For wedding vendors, WeddingWire enables business owners to market themselves over the Internet for no cost and guaranteed ROI, and creates the only market opportunity that gives vendors control over their budget, service reviews, lead generation and performance.
Wedding Wire fails the small bridal business owner on many issues. Wedding Wire allows for unverified reviews on vendors without a check or balance to the validity. There is no "opt out" for any bridal vendor to be excluded from the effects of Wedding Wire. An account can be closed with the Wedding Wire, but the reviews will stay up on their site. A basic Google search on a vendor will show the results. Paid for advertisers on the Wedding Wire get "preferred treatment". Finally, there is no way to review the Wedding Wire, except going through the Better Business Bureau or here.
I invite any bridal or wedding vendors to post any negative issues you may have had with the Wedding Wire company and how it affected your business. I know first hand a few small businesses that have been put out of business due to a direct relation of Wedding Wire's poor review process. You are free to post anonymous reviews as I do not want to see a direct action taken by Wedding Wire against another small business. As a small business owner, I as you do your best to delivery the best service possible to your customers and there is nothing more hateful than an upset bride. As we have seen, a happy bride tells a few select friend about her experience, but an angry bride will blast the entire Internet. This is typically an unjust response to an issue typical of bride not getting her way or something she wanted for free. Big companies can take hateful reviews on the chin, but as a small business you really can. The Wedding Wire needs to be shut down as with all review sites on the web. It is one thing to review a product, but something is just evil about ripping into a service company.

Finally, I ask, PLEASE DO NOT PAY FOR ADVERTISING TO THE WEDDING WIRE. Giving them your hard earned money is just feeding the machine. I also feel this way about other review sites and especially the Better Business Bureau, aka the BBB.
Thank you for your time and your reviews are appreciated.
